Green & White Planting Scheme - Glasgow’s West End

Having recently moved into this new property, the owner wanted to swap the plain grassy bank for a low-maintenance but high impact planting scheme consisting of green and white plants. I selected a large feature Cornus kousa ‘Milky Way’ for the left hand side, and offset this with a lollipop Pinus, Fatsia japonica and holly at the right hand side. Lots of evergreen shrubs, including Taxus topiary balls, Salix, Pittosporum were incorporated, alongside evergreen grasses Carex oshimensis and Ophiopogon plansicapus. Hydrangea paniculatas add large white flowers in summer over a long period. The planting completely transformed the space, and can be viewed from the street on Great Western Road.
